Madelaine Weiss, in her own words, describes herself as ‘fresh’, and ‘feisty’. She has been this way all of her life, and as a child often found herself in trouble, grounded, or punished. Her father was a business owner who died at forty-two years old. She was just fifteen. The doctor said he died of a cerebral hemorrhage, but since she was grounded at the time for speaking truth to power again, she was pretty sure he died of her.
It was not until one day at the cemetery, when she finally broke down with her mother about how “all her fault” it was, that she found out it was not Her after all. In her shining moment as a mom, her mother said tenderly, “No, honey, it wasn’t you. It was work.” Although there was little she could do to help then, Madelaine have since built a career on a foundation of extensive education and experience to help other people enjoy happier, healthier, prosperous and productive lives—at work and at home.
Madelaine is a co-author in the Handbook of Stressful Transitions Across the Lifespan, and author of the new release “Getting to G.R.E.A.T. 5-Step Strategy for Work and Life.” And now, to help executives, professionals, and entrepreneurs, so many of whom worry about their children, Madelaine is launching “What’s Your Story?” a personal development workbook for kids and the people who love them.
We have a fabulous conversation that I know will help people who want to change their story and get to great. Her acronym and process, G.R.E.A.T. is a powerful one, and I know if applied will help every single person get to great. This is an incredible conversation, not to be missed.
