Roger Sutherland has just retired after forty years in the Victorian police force. He experienced all the highs and lows of a first-responder career and shift work scenario. On his journey, he discovered a massive need for people working outside normal hours, and the impact it was having on their health and their lives. He discovered that about 20% of the population work on a shift work schedule, and many more people are impacted.
He has now thrown himself into business with passion to help as many of these people as possible. He is a MNU-Certified Nutritionist and insured to practice. He graduated from Mac-Nutrition Uni (MNU), the internationally recognised gold standard evidence-based school of nutrition. His peers and mentors in the field of evidence-based nutrition continually monitor and assess his practice.
Predominantly coaching females has allowed him to broaden his knowledge around female health, including polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), and general health around the menstrual cycle. He can confidently detect disordered eating in clients. He have completed the Binge Eating Essentials for Health Professionals course by Dr Jake Linardon, which means he understands binge eating and contributing factors to eating disorders.
Roger improves how clients feel about themselves without focusing on changing how they look. He has been mentored by Shannon Beer (expert in body image, intentional and Intuitive Eating) for 6 months and has completed the Body Image Fundamentals course. He can confidently support clients improve their body image. He deciphers what science tells us and helps apply it into the shift working world. This is a wonderful conversation.
